Stinky Dog

Monday night/Tuesday morning Koda got sick in his kennel.

Go ahead and say it (awwwwwww).

He is fine, let’s just say he brings it on himself with everything he eats/sneaks/chews on both inside the house and out.

BUT I think “it” happened when he was actually asleep, because it was ALL OVER HIS EAR and HIS FACE.

Nastiness.

He stunk. I wiped him down as best I could, but it wasn’t enough. There is no way around it, and mornings are not conducive for bath time with Koda, so it had to wait til tonight. And he stunk up the entire house with his nasty smells.

PLUS, you know how it is when your kids are sick…you feel like the smell of vomit is seeping out of your pours…it happens with dogs too.

EW…all day long.

So, when I got home tonight Hubby and Boo were ready to go give Koda a bath.

And by go I mean leave the house and go give him a bath.

Trust me, being stuck in the car with this dog was no fun…

Down the street from us is a car wash, with a pet-wash too. A pet-wash!

We attached Koda’s collar to the washing station, and put our money in for a 5 minute water supply. We had our own shampoo, so we just need the harness-thing and the water. It worked slick! In under 5 minutes we had him all clean and smelling like apples instead of…well…you know.

While Koda isn’t a fan of baths, he did pretty well. He only tried to jump off three times…

But, now I have a clean shiny dog and a new place to get him all clean!

    ugh.
Bosco LOOVES baths. LOVES them…too bad our stupid tub is a whirlpool and he’s getting old enough now that he can’t just hop in there like he used to…
we use the hose now…of course, soon, that won’t be an option.
Poor Koda…I hope he’s feeling better.

  2. Gag, gag, gag.

Two years ago, we got a new puppy. She had a parasite. We didn’t know this until we brought her to the vet TWO MONTHS after she started pooing in the kennel, out of the kennel, and around the kennel EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. She did that by, well, you can imagine. She only had accidents while she was in the kennel, but the poo wasn’t only in the kennel.

The neighbors would laugh at me every night, washing her and the kennel…

Where’s the pet wash? That’s so cool. Gag about the dog. I HATE vomit, of.any.kind.
