Baby Shower Break Down

I am late in posting the rest of these, but this weather is causing problems that must be take care of. Darn wind…

Big Sis’s shower was a success, and she was happy. That was my main goal in everything that we did. We made a lot of the decorations from scratch, all except the balloons and water bottle labels.

Below you will see the banner we made with the Cricket, the Cupcake Tower and Diaper Cake, both of which my sil made!!

The Cupcake Tower is made of foam boards with wooden dowels up the middle. Each layer and dowel is covered in fabric, with ribbon around the edges.  There was a slight accident, so the bottom layer was fixed with hot glue. It held up REALLY well for the entire shower. SIL is an amazing crafty person.

The Diaper cake is about 115 size 1 diapers all hand rolled and wrapped with clear rubber bands. She added bottles, snuggle blankets, febreeze and some other fun things that Big Sis will be able to use in the coming months. SIL even slipped some pink ribbon on it!

Oh the food…I spent all day on Friday cooking and baking. The meatballs are from scratch, and uber easy. We also had a fruit tray, a veggie tray, pickle wraps and taco dip.  On the end you can see the yummy punch, a recipe I got from Kim. She was right, so good. in the punch we had heart shaped ice cubes and an punch-ice ring that had hearts on it. It was fun and easy to do if you have a jello mold with shapes on the end, old school tupperware.

We also had cupcakes with yummy buttercream frosting. The recipe for the cupcakes are from here, (we used different frosting though) thanks to Suzi for showing me the way! Such rave reviews on these, and the frosting.

It was such a great baby shower, and we had such a great time. Thank you to SIL for all your help and willingness to listen to me freak out just a bit at times. And thank you to my friends for giving me such great ideas.
