Tonight was a HUGE night for Boo. She has been working for months on her Fastpitch Pitching, working to get better and be able to maybe pitch in a game sometime soon.
Tonight she had the chance, and she ROCKED IT!!
After spending a lot of time working with her coaches, me and her dad she has some great skill that just needs fine-tuning.
Last night at practice her coach asked all four of the girls that have been working as new pitchers to show him how they were doing, how far they had come working at home and with out pitching coach. Both her regular coach and her pitching coach were amazed at how far Boo had come, how many strikes she would throw in a row. As this is her first year playing Fastpitch it would be an amazement to pitch in a game this year. Last night he told all four of the girls that they would pitch at least one inning in the game the next night. He called them Guest Stars. Boo was more than excited!
Tonight they played my old home-team, the team I pitched for for years. The team that my Dad coached, that Big Sis played for. I was excited to see how the game would go.
When Boo’s coach told her to warm up, I couldn’t look. I didn’t want to say a word, didn’t want to pressure her or make her nervous. She has worked so hard for this, and she knew exactly what I would tell her.
Snap your Wrist
She did all of that AND MORE.
Her first batter…she struck her OUT!! STRUCK HER OUT!!!
I could hardly contain myself, I was so excited for her!
She struck out ANOTHER one after that, and only walked two batters.
BOO ROCKED IT!
She took her time, focused on what she was doing and blanked out the batters.
She did such a good job! We are so proud of her!!!
Her coach was even shocked at how far she had come. She threw a few wild pitches, but she was having such a good time that she didn’t let it faze her at all. He may even let her pitch in the games on Monday!
Congrats Boo!! You have earned the huge smile on your face!
